EcoVision is a conference held twice a year and held to teach sustainable and new technologies. The conference has guest speakers who come from all over the globe to teach, and small local business owners.
The target audience consists of those who wish to discover new technologies, bring attention to their own creations/ideas, and overall wish to contribute to a sustainable technological future.
Presented in this case study are items developed for the purpose of an EcoVision conference.
It began with 50 rough sketches of the logo. When given the client, EcoVision, many ideas came to mind. Trees, leaves, glasses, eyes, etc. This is the brainstorming portion, and allows all ideas to come to life.
After viewing all options, the top 4 were chosen. All having different looks, feeling, and intention. These were brought to the attention of fellow designers, and the top version was chosen.
The logo for EcoVision was decided. It captured the feeling the brand wanted to capture. This showcases that the purpose of the company is to impact the world positively.
This is the main banner for the conference. This is the banner guests will see when they first enter the conference space. It is an easy way for guests to see the guest speakers who are featured for the day, and the times they will be present.
The first banner designed is the register banner. I aimed to provide the basic information on the banner to prepare guests in advance, and lower the possibility of questions being asked. Allowing the information area/section, to be reserved to important questions, where answers may not be easily available for.
This banner is for the information center. Giving a welcoming greeting on the banner to help ease any guests who have anxiety about asking a question, as this is an issue people face at conferences. It was important to ensure the banners were consistent with each other, but different enough to clearly establish two different areas.
This banner is not physical, but a website banner. Since web banners are restricted to certain sizes, this causes a limited amount of information if you want to maintain easy readability. So, it was important to showcase the date, and location of the conference. More information could be discovered by clicking it.
Sunglasses were chosen as they relate to the name 'vision'. While normal glasses make more sense, it would not be practical for all. Sunglasses are more widely used and can be given to guests, friends, and family.
Pins were chosen as a quick and subtle way to spread the word of EcoVision. It can be used on a backpack, hat, and even the provided bag!
Conferences usually have items to take home. For those who are first-time guests at a conference, they may not know to bring something to carry items home. To make the experience of the conference nicer for guests, a complimentary bag is given!
